How many times do we double check ourselves in the mirror before we leave the house? Why do we do that? To make sure our hair looks right? That we didn’t forget to put on lipgloss or put our top on inside out? What about making sure that the zipper on our pants isn’t down? Loves, let me tell you, when you check the mirror before you leave, you’re making sure you look good for the world.
When was the last time we made sure of how we look in representing Jesus Christ and His kingdom? Are we truly aware of what we are wearing? Saying? Doing? I myself am guilty of pleasing the world over pleasing God sometimes and it’s something I’m working hard on everyday.
Ladies (and guys), the only thing we need to use the mirror for is to check and make sure we have a smile on our face, to make sure that Jesus radiates from us before we leave the house. You don’t need a piece of glass to show you how you “look” to the world. You are perfect just the way you are. You are loved just the way you are. Yes, the “imperfections” are included. Nothing and nobody can ever compare to you because God made you perfect in His image. When He was done creating You and saw His finished work, you can bet that His exact thoughts were, “S/he is good.” No need to get reassurance from the world to make sure you’re accepted. You were loved from the start! Isn’t that wonderful?!
When Christ died on the cross for you, He deemed you worthy to do so. All of you. Brokenness, mess and all. Nails didn’t suspend Him between Heaven and Earth. His love for you did. Whatever you have done or will do, He died for you because you are worthy. You are enough and He loves you just the way you are. Nobody compares to you because He made only one of you and He loves all of you regardless of what you think and what the world thinks and that my loves, is the hardcore truth!
