It’s that time again for monthly favorites! Can you believe we’re almost done with the first 30 days of 2016?! This year is already flying by so crazy fast!
I was so thrilled that my friend, Paul, launched his book called Quarter-Life Calling: How to Find Your Sweet Spot in Your Twenties last week! He sold 1,000 copies on the day of the launch and wait for it….he also received an offer to partner with a literary agency to re-publish his book to reach a wider audience! How awesome is that?! Trust me when I say that his latest is work is very good! You can check out my book review and read it yourself to know exactly why I’m a huge fan of his!
Also on rotation is God is Able by Priscilla Shirer, Jesus CEO by Laurie Beth Jones (back in rotation, ha!), and Royalty Income: The Business of Getting Paid More than Once by Dr. Steve Hryszczuk that I’m hoping to finish within the next next week or so.
I’m also reading The Power of Your Words by Robert Morris with several of my closest friends so we can discuss the topic of the influence and impact of our words and it’s already fantastic just three chapters in. I’m planning on gifting a few copies of this book to those closest to me next month. I just love giving the gift of personal development!
I’m officially halfway through the Bible! Hooray! I’m currently on the last half of the book of Psalms with my 90 day Bible plan (for those who are new to my blog, I use the YouVersion Bible app), but this time, I’m only a week behind schedule. How exciting is that?!
Health & Wellness:
I’ve been dreading going to the dentist (and if you don’t know me, the dentist is my least favorite kind of doctor), but made myself go last weekend to get a deep teeth cleaning done before the wisdom teeth have to go. You know, just making sure the six years I put into enduring braces are worth it, ha!
I’ve also been rotating workouts lately to keep things from being monotonous so my routine has been a mix of No Weights No Worries, Fitness Blender and I’m about to add in pilates (self taught before I go to studio classes). With all of this going on, I also finished a five day sugar detox last week and lost 2 1/2 pounds so I’m a happy camper! Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to know more about the detox! 🙂
Still up on my to-buy list are these amazing Nike Free shoes! I need them in black and in white to replace my two worn out pairs and haven’t gotten around to ordering them yet. I’m thinking of getting the black pair first since black goes with everything.
I’ve been working on my 2016 Powersheets for a few weeks since I was late on the ordering game and it’s been so amazing to see last year’s progress compared to what my goals are this year. When you have a moment to reflect on the previous year, you really realize that you can do whatever you set your mind to and it’s a great feeling!
I’ve yet to order my Daily Greatness Journal either, but I’m sure I’ll get around to it soon. I know, I’m terrible at getting the things I need ordered.
I’ve still been scouring the internets looking at a ton of interior decor inspiration, possible furniture purchases, reading tips for small living spaces for my new place and have visited one furniture store. All I really need is a couch, a media storage unit, a few bar stools, chair for my desk and a coffee table since all the living room furniture I currently have would be too big for my apartment. Who knew it’d be this hard to shop for a small apartment?!
Oy! Lots of purchases need to be done, but hey, I’m blessed to be able to do so, amen?
Did I mention that my to-do list is a mile long and I’ll be moving in less than a month from today?! So much to do, so little time!
Style & Beauty:
I’ve been holding back on fashion and beauty purchases this last month to buy things I need for the move so nothing new in this department, but if you count getting this gorgeous gold S’well water bottle a beauty purchase, then yes, I made a style and beauty purchase, ha!
Well, guys, I’ve been thinking about this long and hard, but I have decided to take a hiatus from my little corner of the internet. With the move around the corner, B-school (Where are my B-schoolers at?!) starting back up again (which will be my third round, how crazy is that?!), major business goals to achieve and aiming for my team’s own growth, I had to take something off of my plate.
I’m also in several major transitions in my life that I need time to adjust to and I didn’t want to not give a 110% into my work with this blog. I don’t think it’s fair to give you mediocre work, you know? It’s also not me to not give you my best either which is why I made this decision.
Don’t worry though. I’m hoping to be back on the blogosphere by end of March/beginning of April at the latest after everything settles down. I’ll be back in the swing of things from these transitions and big moments in my life by that point and will have so much fun content to share with you. I promise!
In the meantime, I’ll still be posting on Instagram so you can follow my thoughts and adventures over there! Wishing you all the best and I’ll see you VERY soon! xo
